Link Liberation – I’m in — you?

09.11.2010 (12:57 pm) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

Let’s cut to the chase here .. If you want to learn how to get and stay at the top of Free search, Dan and Leslie are the best teachers. They taught me everything I know and use.

No BS, I will be buying into the Link Liberation coaching program today. I want to get access to the new software, and I also want to see what’s new in the program. It’s been awhile since I went through LL 1.0, and frankly I’ve forgotten a lot of the structure (and my rankings have suffered)

So I’m in — are you?

Grab Link Liberation Now

Now the course isn’t for everyone. A lot of people are baulking at the price point which is $297 a month, without discounts. But here are 2 things to consider with the price.

Are you making money every month? Then $297 for Link Liberation is a drop in the bucket.

Are you not making $297 a month? Then you need help or you will not survive.

So how can I help you?

Well if you buy through my Link Liberation affiliate link below, I’ll be your personal contact for help. Since I’m going through the course at the same time as you, I’ll be there to help you personally via email with anything that may be confusing, or if you need some more specific direction. Kind of like a study buddy!

So let’s learn together:

The Horrows of IT, Servers and crap like that …

06.10.2010 (1:50 pm) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

Today has not been a great day so far .. but I wanted to pass along a word of caution along with a must see video if you are in the Internet Marketing niche.

First off is a word of warning… if you are thinking about using cloudflare.com cloud based load balancing system.

First the good: The service is free, and rather easy to setup. It’s well worth a look at if you get a lot of traffic and especially if you are hosted on a shared platform. They will offload and protect your site from “bad” traffic. For me this was important, as I get a lot of “bad” traffic (like forum spam, bad bots, etc) to a couple of my niche sites that were driving up my server costs.

Now the warning: They DON’T support SSL. So if you have an ecommerce site that needs SSL to, I dunno process orders?, then make sure you have your ssl setup already on a sub-domain. (aka ssl.mydomain.com). If it’s setup on the main: mydomain.com you WILL run into major issues.

Now as you may have guessed, I’ve ran smack dab into this issue.  I didn’t read the fine print (I mean who does?) and enabled one of my e-commerce sites over to Cloudflare’s DNS. Today I didn’t see any order action, so I checked on the checkout page .. and uh oh.  “The Request Cannot Be Completed” ..  Yeah that’s not a way to wakup in the morning.

And yes folks this gets worse ….

So after seeing that I couldn’t use Cloudflare for SSL access, I decided that I would just add a new subdomain (ssl.) and use my certificate on there. Of course that doesn’t work as the SSL cert is only tied to the “exact” domain. So ok, no problem since that wasn’t working anyway, I’ll just re-voke the SSL cert from GoDaddy (who I have the cert from), and re-install it on the new ssl.mydomain.com.

Well if anyone of you reading this have done this before, you’ll understand what a mistake this was. Once you revoke a SSL cert you cannot get it back. Thankfully GoDaddy did refund me the 2 years remaining that I had on the cert, but now I’m sitting with no SSL, no SSL cert and a wasted day (and not to mention lost revenue) ..

So what are the takeaways: Pay attention to small print — especially on live projects. IT/Tech stuff sucks .. And let it be known that I’m a tech guy. I maintain my own server and I write my own software, I can’t imagine if you don’t have at least some what of a tech background, what you would do.

The irony is, yesterday I watched my friend Andy Jenkins promo video of Kajabi. Which I recommend that you watch. If you are in the “launch” business or want to produce a membership site of some importance, then this is aimed directly at you. That’s not an affiliate link .. it’s just something that I think may be of interest to my readers. And heck after my day today, it’s of interest to me too.

Kajabi is a great new platform that takes care of the IT stuff so you don’t have to .. and it’s much more. Andy does a great job of covering it in his video, so I won’t attempt to one up him here.. just give it a look and as usually with AJ’s video’s it’s entertaining.

By now most of you have heard – and are most likely using Google Instant. I’ve waited to make a post about it, until more data has come in from the labs. I’ve also tried to bypass the hysteria of “SEO is dead” crap .. so let’s cut to the chase and explore Google Instant and what it means to you.

IM Leadership by Howie Schwartz

19.08.2010 (10:32 am) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

Some of you know this, but some of you don’t so I’ll tell the story again. I’ve been working on offline marketing (aka marketing to small businesses) for a little while now, under my site: Target Local.

Marketing to Small business is both easy and hard all at the same time – takes this from somebody who knows. Ranking is rather easy, quite frankly. Generally for local searches you are competing against 5-10 backlinks, where any effort at all can get you to the top 3.

As an example, it took me about 3 days to get #1 for the term “guelph house painter”, do a search and you’ll see www.guelphlocal.ca/guelph-housepainter/ is #1 below the maps for this word.

So that’s all well in good you say, what’s the hard part then? The hard part I’ve found is actually getting in touch with the small businesses. In a lot of cases the people that you need to talk to are protected, either by wives or Secretaries, or have to “talk to their partners”

Let me tell you this can be very frustrating. What else is frustrating is that you are dealing with people that know pretty much nothing about the Internet. This is good and bad. The good part is that you know more then them, and you know they need you. But the bad part is they don’t know they need you.

So how can you overcome these pitfalls? Ask for help. Howie Schwartz is launching his IM Leadership program today, and it’s focused on helping you sell services to small businesses.

If you read my email the other day or watched the webinar, you know that Howie has been at this for a long time. He’s one of the few “gurus” that I pay attention to.

The course isn’t for everyone. It’s a nice chunk of change, but you also are gaining an adviser by you side that will help you succeed – something I wish I had quite frankly.

If you aren’t interested in marketing your services to others, then obviously this isn’t for you either. But keep in mind I was once this way too .. I didn’t want to “deal” with other people. But the bottomline is sometimes you have to go where the money is, and this area is ripe for some fast cash.

So give the salespage a look, and really look at the testimonials, I can attest that they are genuine – and impressive.

Before you leave, since this is an expensive product, I’m going to throw in a very personal bonus if you want to buy this product throw my link.

If you buy with my link, I will give you my personal email address where you can ask me any questions you wish for up to 1 year that pertains to local marketing and I’ll gladly help you out with advice the best that I can.

Second, I’ll provide you with the 4 part email sequence that I currently use in my local targeting websites.

Lastly, I’ll give you the Q&A advertisement that I just wrote and is currently running in my local paper.

If you decide not to buy, no problems, like I said it’s not for everybody.

IM Leadership – Local Marketing is it for you?

16.08.2010 (9:47 pm) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

So my last post was a little on the anger side .. so I’ll try and be a little more level headed in this one :)

Local Marketing is something that has been hot in the Internet Marketing world for the last 5 months or so, with the hyper launch from Mike Koenigs just finishing up not that long ago.

What a lot of people don’t know, is that one of the people I do trust and pay attention to, Howie Schwartz has been talking about “offline” marketing for a long time before these guys.

I respect very few “Gurus” as I’ve said, but I respect Howie because he walks the walk.. now all is not rosy with his launches,
as often his products are a little overpriced for what you get.. but the good news is this this local marketing webinar will give you a ton of knowledge and content for nothing.

Here’s the webinar info:

Topic: Profiting TODAY From Local Search

http://www.shaunguido.com/go/howielocal

This content packed presentation will reveal:

* The secrets to ranking on TOP of Google local & maps right away

* How to identify and target clients to generate easy RECURRING
income

* Why everything you think you know about local search is probably
wrong :)

And Howie has a special surprise planned for the webinar too :)
(HINT: Free Stuff!)

If you have the time I hope you’ll attend. Like I said Howie knows
his stuff.

I was thinking something today, while I was working on salesletter concepts for my new keyword attack software that’s due for beta release soon, and that’s how a lot of these Internet marketing products are being sold these days.
Does this sound familiar ….
“I was homeless”
“I was living with my parents”
“I had no money in the bank
and then miraculously they found their “system” and now they are stinking rich!
1) They are totally lying. This is a strong statement for sure, but one that I think needs to be said. I honestly hate reading and hate hearing those statements simply because I don’t believe them. In the real world these situations do exist for sure, but these feel more like somebody trying to pray on my emotions.
Then of course there is the other part of the potential “lie” .. and that’s the rich part. In most cases, people that you have never heard of before, are that way for a reason — they aren’t “underground”, they are unsuccessful (up until now at least). If I see another person in a salesletter standing beside their new sports car (that they most likely rented), I’m going to throw up.
In all honesty, call me crazy, but what I think should happen is that – go figure – your product/service should be able to stand on it’s own, without the story.
The Report, The Software, The Video Series .. what’s in it and what it’s about should be quality enough that people want to buy it. I don’t care how much money you had before and now have — I care about what I can get out of it.
2) The other side actually ties into the above. Maybe the story is at least a little bit true. So what takes a online marketer (or any business) from nobody to somebody?
Action.
That word is so important that I gave it, it’s own line. Stop being an “opportunity seeker” and go for it. Now I must declare, I’m not a saint in this regard either. The keyword software mentioned earlier has been in my back pocket for at least 6 months now. My problem is that I want to make it perfect (which frankly will be another subject I cover soon). But without taking action a few bad things happen.
1) You never trust yourself. You will always be a sucker for the next “big thing”, the next “loophole”, the next “whatever”. You will always fall into this for one simple reason — you’ll never see for yourself what works and what doesn’t. You will always be chasing whatever “may” be out there.
2) You’ll keep wasting time and money. New products/courses cause 2 huge downfalls. The first is obvious and that’s the money it costs you. But the second is sneaky .. it’s the time wasted to learn and understand the information. Never mind what can happen when that information contradicts something you already thought you knew! Then #1 trust will again creep in.
So what’s my point ?
Simple actually …
1) Have a goal. This can be something like: A End Product to Sell, An Affiliate Market to Make Money In, Finish a Website
2) Only purchase items that actually move you closer to that goal – and NOTHING else. This is key… This can be things such as outsourcing things you don’t like or know like content writing, SEO, etc. But it can also be products that help you get to your goal faster. Better keyword research, or faster Web 2.0 distribution, etc.
3) Focused Action. Without this one the other two don’t matter. You must not let your focus wander, in fact if you are reading this email – then you have wondered! Stop reading and go do!
Let me leave you with a site that I just came across that may help some of you out there that are looking for a way to get your content distributed on the web fast, free and easy. http://pixelpipe.com/ Publish photos, video, audio, text and files on over 100 online destinations and counting… (and btw that’s not an affiliate link at all)
Let me know what you think below …
