All links are not created equal

13.06.2011 (1:57 pm) – Filed under: announce,Attack Suite,Internet Marketing ::

If you’ve being in the SEO game (or profession, depending on your perception), then you know the one thing that matters the most in gaining in the SERPs are links. All things being equal the page with the most links win.

However, obviously all links are not created equal. Getting a link from apple.com holds more value (in SEO terms) than getting a link from somesite.com/13/startpage/eraty.php ..

How do we know this? Well Google told us so. Back in 1998 the Pagerank algorithm was created to basically “rank pages” so that Google could determine what sites were important and what sites aren’t. The Google PR bar then became a standard goto for SEO’s to determine the strength of a page.

The problems with Google PR

When the PR toolbar first started to appear it became the first real insight given by Google to end users letting us know how they rank sites. However over time this has become more and more useless for a number of reasons:

1) The  toolbar ranking is old

It’s common knowledge that the ranking shown in the toolbar is most likely only updated about every 3 -6 months, while the actual PR google uses is updated daily and maybe more often

2) Sites can fake PR.

It’s becoming harder to fake PR if you put it through a real checker, but it still happens all the time. (Note: Google is not being faked, the end user is)

3) PR has a small sale.

PR has a scale of 0 – 1, which is ok for comparing 2 or 3 sites .. but say you have 25 sites that are all a PR2 .. you have no idea within those 25 which ones are more powerful than the others. And don’t be fooled, because all of the PR2 sites are indeed NOT equal in passing you quality link juice.

4) PR doesn’t give a good idea of future value

PR is more a sign of age than it is of power. There could be an article posted last week at a good quality site that sparks a huge viral spread. But if you look at it’s PR .. chances are it’s either 0 or N/A (not available). That’s because it takes time to build PR in the toolbar display.

5) PR isn’t the only ranking factor

Google changes it’s algorithm all the time. And we know that PR simply isn’t the only factor that matters. We know for a fact that social exposure matters, more and more every day.

6) Google holds the keys to the PR gold

PR is protected … and Google doesn’t let you know what they don’t want you know.. that’s a problem for webmasters.

So how do we as Internet Marketers fix this to our advantage?

We create a new system/algorithm that contains *all* of the known factors that help push link power to your site from another site. This system must be modular and be able to change over time as ranking factors change. More importantly the system must make it easy to separate sites based on ranking power and not as closed as things like “PR2″ etc.

So today we introduce the:

Our page juice calculator allows you to:

  • Analyze a large number of URLs in a very short period of time
  • >>> The PJC allows you to quickly analyzes many urls at once to easily spot the best targets – FAST.

  • Easily spot the best URLS for your links with our (0-100) scale
  • >>> The variance of scoring allows you to easily sort these urls by the best ones to target today, and what to put off the list

  • Easily sort by 20+ different variables.
  • >>> Every variable in the algorithm has a different weight when it comes to the final score, but our system will allow you to sort by *any* variable you want.

  • Easily compare data for: Juicy Links, All Links, seoMoz rankings, PageRank
  • >>> PR is still important and it is part of our system, we also weight the values of Followed and Non-Followed links, and we use an authority information site seoMoz as part of system.

  • Quickly spot important rank info: Outlinks, No Follow, Google Cache Date, Top 10 serps
  • >>> If you for example want to sort by cache date to get your sites indexed fast, it’s quick and easy!

  • Isolate social factors like Delicious bookmarks, Twitter Mentions and Facebook Likes
  • >>> The web is moving more social and so is the juice pushing power.

  • Quickly spot the domain base power with PR, DMOZ and seoMoz link data
  • >>> The base domain power is a great indicator in the potential of the pages future power.

So what’s the cost of this thing?

Right now we are sticking to a beta price of just $27 a month.

Why a monthly fee and not a one time cost? Simple really. This software is web based and just beginning, it will always be evolving. As a member you are always guaranteed to be running the latest version. We are also planning a large number of secret additions to enhance the software and also, provide you with some custom link sources that are already top ranked.

    How To Make Money Online

    10.06.2011 (11:57 am) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

I happened across something yesterday that was so brilliant because of it’s simplicity, I felt the need to share it.

While watching Andy Jenkins’ BOSS webcast for a couple mins, he had Frank Kern and Trey Smith on. I’m sure most of you know them, if not you may be in the wrong business.

Some attendee asked Frank, how do you make money online?

Now mind you Kerns made millions online, but here was his answer:

“create an offer, send paid traffic to it”
    “tweak it”
    “send more paid traffic”
“if you make more in sales then you spend in traffic, you win”

Folks it doesn’t come more straight forward than that.

Remember those sentences when you are trying to sell *anything* online.

Then once you have a winner verified by paid traffic – Google, Facebook, etc – expand into free traffic with SEO and explore potential joint ventures.

SEO can be a long process, so make sure you have a winner FIRST, most people – myself included at times, work in reverse.

SEO may be cheaper initially in $$, but it’s very costly in terms of wasted time if you are wrong.

Where I’ve been and What’s to come

    08.06.2011 (3:20 pm) – Filed under: announce,Internet Marketing ::

It’s indeed been a rather long time since I’ve posted here or mailed my list. I’m sure some of you are wondering where the heck I’ve been and what I’ve been doing. Just as I’m sure some of you – don’t care either way :)

I’ve spent the last while concentrating on my e-commerce businesses and making sure they are up to snuff and actively being promoted by my staff of outsourcers. This hasn’t really been a smooth process, with some more hits and misses with oDesk. Not that it’s oDesk’s fault, but rather sometimes it’s just hard to find good people to do simple tasks.

Once that was tied up, I decided to make a strategic change in my business and now I’m going to concentrate on providing solutions to Internet Marketers (read: those of you reading this) in the form of software solutions. Giving my active background in Internet Marketing, I’ve come to realize that there are very few good  software solutions – think the best spinner -  and more stuff sold by “gurus” that have never coded a day in their life. Or gurus that outsource everything, including the research, because they don’t live and die with this stuff “in reality”.

That’s right folks, most of the stuff you buy is made by people that don’t actually live and breathe this stuff everyday. People selling SEO products, don’t do SEO .. they make their money by doing joint ventures. Same with PPC, Facebook, etc .. the list is long. I won’t get off on that rant again, because I’ve shouted about it many times on my blog.

So what makes my stuff “solutions” and not “products”? Pretty simple I believe. I actually use my tools on a daily basis and I use them effectively. I believe in creating tools that not only serve a purpose (to help you make money), but also leave you no doubt about what direction to take next.

I’ve always admired a guy like Jonathan Leger for a couple of reasons. One – his products work, two – his products are simple and three – they provide solutions that you can act on.

A good example I can give, that goes the other way, is with another popular item in the IM world – Market Samurai. While MS is a good piece of software, I use it rarely .. the main reason is, while it does provide some nice information, it often leaves me with a “well now what do I do?” feeling. Research products are nice and all – but without an obvious next step they are pretty much useless.

My new company, Attack Suite, aims to make things different. In the next day or so I’ll break down our first product release, the Page Juice Calculator – which aims to replace Google PageRank as a real world page strength comparison tool.

If any of you follow Chris Rempel, and are a member of Actually Rank, you are already reaping the rewards of my PJC software.

If you don’t – hold tight, tomorrow the doors will be open exclusive to my subscribers for a beta run at my new solution! [or you can cheat and simply navigate to the AS link above ;-) ]
