IM Leadership – Local Marketing is it for you?

16.08.2010 (9:47 pm) – Filed under: Internet Marketing ::

So my last post was a little on the anger side .. so I’ll try and be a little more level headed in this one :)

Local Marketing is something that has been hot in the Internet Marketing world for the last 5 months or so, with the hyper launch from Mike Koenigs just finishing up not that long ago.

What a lot of people don’t know, is that one of the people I do trust and pay attention to, Howie Schwartz has been talking about “offline” marketing for a long time before these guys.

I respect very few “Gurus” as I’ve said, but I respect Howie because he walks the walk.. now all is not rosy with his launches,
as often his products are a little overpriced for what you get.. but the good news is this this local marketing webinar will give you a ton of knowledge and content for nothing.

Here’s the webinar info:

Topic: Profiting TODAY From Local Search

This content packed presentation will reveal:

* The secrets to ranking on TOP of Google local & maps right away

* How to identify and target clients to generate easy RECURRING
income

* Why everything you think you know about local search is probably
wrong :)

And Howie has a special surprise planned for the webinar too :)
(HINT: Free Stuff!)

If you have the time I hope you’ll attend. Like I said Howie knows
his stuff.

Some AdSense Tips

28.06.2010 (10:43 pm) – Filed under: Uncategorized ::

I know a lot of my readers are working on Adsense type sites right now, so I thought I’d provide some direction and a couple of quick tips. This is by no means the by all and end all .. but it’s not costing you anything either :)

1) AdSense isn’t as easy as it used to be… There is a lot of competition these days and the content network is 2nd banana to Google & Search Partners PPC, so you won’t get the high Money per click like a few years ago — however the content network is back on an upswing, especially with a high number of banner ads making it there. So make sure to enable Text & Image Ad Types in Google Adsense setup.

2) Use Wordpress. Wordpress is great for 2 things: SEO (Use All in One SEO Plugin) and easy of use. And another bonus is that Google loves it. If you do a search for “adsense” in the Add Theme you are sure to find a good theme to use. I’d recommend something like BlueSense.

3) Placement is key .. Here is a color coded layout that gives you an idea on where is the best place to put your Ads:

4) Remember the goal of you adsense site .. It’s to get people off of your site as quickly as possible – ideally by clicking on the ads. So in this cause ugly works. You don’t want to engage your viewers you want them gone — in a good way!

5) Build lots of sites .. Don’t expect bug returns from only one site – unless you can point a lot of traffic at it. Make a small goal, like say $2 a day from a site, then rinse and repeat. If you get 10-20 sites up in a month then you will start to see some action.

6) Test & Switch .. Always keep an eye on your adsense stats and do what you can to try and raise the CTR on your ads .. the better the CTR the more money you will get paid per click by Google. If certain colors are working – switch em, try different placements. Try more ads, try less ads, try different sizes — try everything :)

Let me know what you think of my tips and of course if you have any quick ones, add them in the comments.
